Smartphone with a big battery is always a hot item. There are so many OEMs stepping into this market. So, who’s gonna be the winner in the long battery life smartphone battle ?
Long battery life smartphone: Samsung vs Sony
Smartphone battery is one of buyers’ most interests. This is in the top reasons for smartphone choice. That’s why many smartphone manufacturers focus on this feature. There’ve been many companies releasing their phones with big batteries. Let’s see which brand has the most impressive battery life so far. A survey of smartphone battery life was conducted in the last three years by Phone Arena team.
As you can see from the chart, Samsung and Sony are the two highlight companies offering the best battery so far. However, Sony has the unstable frequencies due to the 6-month upgrade cycles. In the early of 2013, its average cell is just 300 minutes, but at the end of 2014, this cell is up dramatically thanks to Xperia Z3. And after that, it falls again with the Xperia Z3+ and Xperia Z5, and go up again with Xperia X.
Among the three others big names: iPhone, HTC, LG and Motorola, HTC’s battery capacity seems to be the most stable with the growth rate from 350-425’. However, the company doesn’t have any breakthrough. Moto X is in the same case as it can’t pass the number 400. The big brand from the US has a battery improvement after being complained. With the average cell of 500 minutes, iPhone has even passed the Galaxy S lineup. LG can’t follow the success of LG G2. LG is on the lowest level in the top 5 big brands.
Long battery life smartphone: Sony is crowned
So, Sony and Samsung is the two best battery phones so far. The most highlight of Samsung is the Galaxy Note series. The battery of this lineup continues to raise. Generally, Sony still surpasses its rival from Korea for the last two years despite being not stable.
