Two of the most expected flagships in this H2 of 2015: Samsung Galaxy Note 5 and S6 edge Plus, are about to take off. We are glad to be informed that they will be released earlier than the time planned which has been said to be at IFA – the world’s leading trade show for consumer electronics and home appliances, in Berlin in September.
According to many news sources, Note 5 and S6 edge Plus will be announced on August 12 and available on sale around the end of the month. This can be a Samsung‘s strategy to start early sales of their new flagship smartphones in order to avoid a hard competition with Apple iPhone 6S as well as other potential candidates.
Specifically, both Samsung Galaxy Note 5 and S6 edge Plus have just passed certification in Singapore’s IDA database where the Note 5’s number is SM-N920I and S6 edge Plus’s is SM-G928I. The info also makes it clear that the rumor of a Samsung Galaxy Note edge replacement with an S-Pen will not happen at least in the Q3 of 2015.
As for design, Samsung Galaxy Note 5 and S6 edge+ are reported to own premium glasses and metal unibodies like the current Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 edge. It also implies that removable batteries and expandable microSD card slots will not be seen in the new machines.
As for specs, firstly, Note 5 will get a 5.67-inch 2K display and Samsung’s latest Exynos integrating octa-core processor, RAM, ROM, GPU and modem in just one unit. And of course, as what we have been heard for a long time, Note 5 will sport 4GB of LP-DDR4 RAM and a larger 4,100mAh battery than Samsung Galaxy Note 4‘s cell.
Next is the Galaxy S6 edge+. Though it was rumored to feature a Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 processor, recent news has mentioned that S6 edge Plus specs will be similar to Galaxy S6 and S6 edge specs. That means it will probably come with an Exynos 7420 chip and 3GB RAM. Anyhow, it will not let us down since we know the S6 has been number one on benchmark list so far.
Besides some similarities, there are differences between S6 edge+ and S6 edge to note. The screen size of the Plus version is going to be bigger, about 5.3-5.4 inches, and so is the battery, up to 3,000mAh.
So, if those new handsets have appeared in Singaporean database, we predict that Malaysia will soon get confirmation for the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 and S6 edge Plus launch here. Moreover, Malaysia is also a key market for Samsung, so it is likely that Malaysia consumers can see both devices in early September.
