Stock Android KitKat Launch for Xiaomi Mi3 and Mi4!
There is always a lot of Discussion about OS, the same with MIUI V6. A lot of fans love the freshly styled new look, others complain its too close to iOS7. And there is a big fraction of fans who complain that they would love to get Stock Android – the Purist. Well thats now possible, Xiaomi Mi3 and Xiaomi Mi4 owners can install Stock Android KitKat on your their phone.
We can see this as a very strong sign that Xiaomi is planning to officiall launch stock, vanilla Editions of Android for some Xiaomi Phones for users to flash. Xiaomi would be one of the first companies, to offers users an Android Stock Version to flash officially. Another Chinese company was OPPO, who worked with Cyanogen for the N1 and we would love to see Xiaomi go in that direction as well.
Stock Android for Xiaomi Mi3 and MI4
Owners of the ever famous XiaomI Mi3 and new Flagship Xiaomi Mi4 have now the choice to install Android 4.4 Kitkat Stock to their phones. As far as we can see this version is not offically supported by Xiaomi, but still developed by an Xiaomi Developer. This AOSP edition of the Android Stock Rom was developed on the official kernel and is stable and without many bugs. That means also that the ROM is as close to Android Stock as it gets and the OS even gets over the air updates.
While it is confirmed that we can use the Android Stock Version for Xiaomi relatively stable and bug free, much more interesting is that for the Xiaomi Redmi 1S. The Redmi 1S comes with only 1GB of RAM, which makes the MIUI V6 laggy from times to times. For those of you who are a bit more risky, you can follow this link and flash the Android 4.4.1 Stock on your Xiaomi Redmi 1S, it seems to be less stable then on Xiaomi Mi 3 though.
We will try out ourselves to install the Android Stock on our Xiaomi Mi3 in the office. Anyone of you who wants to try is very welcome to let us know please.
