Dual SIM phones: 4 reasons why they’re not that good
Dual SIM smartphones are now becoming a trend. Many brands have released products having this feature. However, is it that convenient? Here are 4 things dual SIM phones are worse than single SIM phones.
Dual SIM phones: more expensive
The first advantage of single SIM phones is the price. For the same smartphone, the single SIM version will be cheaper than the dual SIM model. The discrepancy between the prices of two variants will be about $20 to $40 (RM. 80 to RM. 159). So, if you think $40 is not a big amount and you can afford it, just go ahead and have yourself a dual SIM phone.
Secondly, when using a dual SIM phone, your action will be slow down. Every time you want to call or send a message, you will be asked like “which SIM you want to use?”. And this will cause some problems. For instance, some people may forget this step when sending a message, and your message won’t be sent. And you will feel a little annoyed when constantly asked like that.
Thirdly, when having a secondary SIM slot, your phone will be thicker. This is a disadvantage of dual SIM phones. Instead of featuring a slim shape, your phone will be thicker visually. Not even mention that a dual SIM device could possibly not be equipped with some features, say, connectivity solutions.
Dual SIM phones: not convenient as you think
Fourthly, some smartphone makers will add a multifunctional slot for their dual SIM phones. This means your second SIM slot is also the microSD card slot. In this occasion, you will have to choose which one you want to use. If you constantly switch the second SIM and the SD card, this slot will gradually be worn out. That’s it. These are five disadvantages of dual SIM phones. If you have an intention of buying a dual SIM device, just consider carefully.
