In this iPhone case, an Australian man- Gareth Clear- has suffered a third-degree burn.
This 36-year-old man got this wound from a minor bike fall. On Sunday afternoon, Clear had fallen off the bike when his left foot missed the pedal. There’s nothing much to say if he just got a few scratches from the fall. The noticeable thing is that his iPhone 6 started melting through his right back pocket. And the phone stuck to his right thigh skin. So, he had a third-degree burn and had to undergo an operation of skin graft.
Clear’s iPhone 6 was bought from an Apple Store and wasn’t been through any adjustments or modifications. So, what’s the problem. The answer is the lithium-ion battery. It was just a minor drop which makes the lithium-ion battery catch fire. The point is this kind of the battery is very easy to be influenced by impact, electrical short-circuits, and even the heat.
