Lumia Devices get 4G LTE via OTA
There has been a fast growing speed in the mobile market of India recently. However, there still exists some works that need to be implied. For instance, the 4G LTE connectivity is one of the features that some devices haven’t reached. Then, Microsoft has started to update its Lumia gets 4G LTE capability.
It’s said that new 4G-enabling software update rolling out to select Microsoft Lumia devices in India. It will make the 4G services to be available on many Lumia handsets in the region of India, where 4G LTE networks are not very popular. It is to be noted that this update only supports FDD-LTE (1,800 MHz) band but not the TDD-LTE (2,300 MHz) band.
OTA update will simply enable those features on a software level and unlocking the phone to its actual potential. There is no official list of eligible devices has been updated yer, somehow, many users has announced that they have recieved the services. Up to now, those handsets are :
Lumia 1520; Lumia 1320; Lumia 930; Lumia 920; Lumia 925; Lumia 830; Lumia 625
If you are in India and own one of these devices that received the update, then make sure to check the mobile network setting to use the 4G connectivity. While it is still not known yet, some phones may get the OTA in coming weeks. Beside, oweners of Microsoft Lumia 1020, Lumia 735 and Lumia 640 , Lumia 640 XL can also check the devices for new OTA notification.
