Meizu brings Ubuntu Touch to the MX4 for MWC
We have good news for all Meizu and Ubuntu Touch Fans! Meizu has confirmed officially that on the MWC, the Meizu MX4 will be launched with three different Operating Systems. As you can see on their Microblogging platform they officially confirmed the good news for the MWC in Barcelona next week.
We have reported earlier about an exclusive contract between Meizu and Canonical. Also there were leaks about Meizu MX4 featuring Ubtuntu Touch. Now we have the official news of Meizu!
It really seems that Meizu is going innovative ways with their flagship, the Meizu MX4. Originally the Meizu MX4 is featuring Flyme 4.0 OS. Also the Meizu MX4 is working with YunOS, the Android OS made by E-Commerce Giant AliBaba. Next week Meizu fans, will get the third option – Ubuntu Touch for Meizu MX4.
The Ubuntu Touch OS, uses the same core technology as the Ubuntu Desktop Edition. That means apps that were created will work on Ubuntu Touch and vice versa. Also Ubuntu Desktop parts will support the Ubuntu Touch OS System for Mobile. Your Ubuntu Touch MX4 can provide a full desktop experience if connected with an external monitor or Docking Station. We also have some rumors that the Meizu MX4 Pro will be available with Ubuntu Touch and it seems that Canoncial has been able to optimize Ubuntu Touch running on Mediatek MT6595 CPU. This means that very soon there could be other Flagship Smartphones running on Ubuntu Touch OS.
