Modular phones – the challenges are real
As recent reports, LG company is now preparing a new modular phone. For an example, LG G5 has an expansion slot that helps you to replace its battery easily and insert a camera grip or a hi-fi DAC into the phone. For LG G5 specifically and modular phones in general, with this new feature, you can do more interesting things than browse the web or sending the email. However, the modular phone can’t be equipped the waterproof or dustproof functionality as well as a fingerprint sensor. As we know, Google is facing those problems when making the modular phone too.
In last year, Google started the “Ara project” to make the new modular smartphone. Besides, Google announced that they will launch a prototype of the modular smartphone in Puerto Rico, USA. However, the idea of making the modular smartphone is required more technologies. Moreover, Puerto Rico has some economic and environmental problems at that time. Therefore, they officially delay the launch of its Project Ara modular smartphone until now.
But at the present, according to some reliable sources, Google are looking for other places in the United States to make their “Ara project”. They will also find the way to solve the “waterproof or dustproof ” problem when making the modular phone. We expect that Google will come back with more interesting devices in this year.
Modular phones specs – the future in your hand
The new modular smartphone will change the way we using the smartphone. Modular phones can replace completely the Mp3 players, point-and-shoot cameras, and pocket calculators.
