OnePlus 5 to feature dual-edge display and 256GB of ROM
The new OnePlus 3T is only just on the market, first rumors about its successor – the OnePlus 5 – are already swirling around the internet. Read on to find out what the fourth version offers.
OnePlus 5 Specs and Features
YES, you have read correctly: the Chinese manufacturer wants to release the fourth generation of the series in 2017, but the smartphone is called OnePlus 5 and not 4. Why? The background to this weird skip is due to superstition. Number is considered as an unlucky number because “four” in Chinese sound similar to “death”. After the very positive response to the OnePlus 3, the expectations of the successor are correspondingly high. However, it seems that OnePlus fans have to be patient for a while.
If the OnePlus 5 should be powered by the Snapdragon 835 processor, the smartphone we have to wait at least until June. The reason is Samsung. The South Korean electronics giant has already secured the first batches of the Snapdragon 835 at Qualcomm for the Galaxy S8. Talking about Samsung: according to rumors, the OnePlus 5 is going to sport a dual-edge display like the Galaxy S7 Edge.
Further rumors claim that the handset will feature a stunning 23MP rear camera on the back and a 16MP front shooter for selfies, 6 or 8GB RAM together with 256GB of internal storage, and a enormous 4,000 mAh battery. Also, the upcoming OnePlus will come with a ceramic unibody design in the style of the Xiaomi Mi Mix and the device will come with a Type-C USB port.
OnePlus 5 Price and Availability
As mentioned above, we have to wait at least a few months if the phone is going to be powered by Snapdragon 835. Unfortunately, we have no information about the price but stay tuned, we will keep you informed. Would you buy the OnePlus 5? Let us know in comments!
