Xiaomi held an event in China, unveiling various products under its Redmi sub-brand. The new smartphones, Redmi K70 and Redmi K70 Pro, arrive as the successor to last year’s K60 phones. Beginning with the design, the Redmi duo sports a new design with a rectangular camera island and a boxy metal frame. Regarding display, both the Redmi K70 specs and K70 Pro specs feature a 6.67-inch TCL C8 OLED screen with a resolution of 1440 x 3200 pixels, 4,000 nits peak brightness, and a rapid 120Hz refresh rate. Moreover, they include an in-screen fingerprint scanner.

Xiaomi also developed an AI algorithm for upscaling select video games and apps. Although both beasts operate on Android 14, they differ in terms of their processors. The Redmi K70 runs on Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. In contrast, the Redmi K70 Pro gets power from Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. Besides, both phones opt for the same options for onboard storage: 256/512/1TB of ROM (no card slot). However, the standard version offers 12/16GB of RAM, while the Pro version provides more options with 12/16/24GB of RAM. Additionally, both gadgets ship with a triple-camera setup.

In detail, the Redmi K70 camera setup has a 50MP main lens, an 8MP ultrawide-angle shooter, and a 2MP depth sensor. On the other hand, the Redmi K70 camera system consists of a 50MP primary camera, a 50MP proper telephoto camera with 2x optical zoom, and a mightier 12 MP ultrawide shooter. On the front, both devices boast a 16MP sensor for selfies. Furthermore, both handsets draw power from a 5,000mAh battery unit supporting 120W fast charging, which can get the phone from 0% to 100% in 18 minutes. Other Redmi K70 and K70 Pro features include a USB-C port, WiFi-7, NFC, IR Blaster, Bluetooth 5.4, and X-Axis Linear motor. Lastly, the Redmi K70 and K70 are offered in Black, Glacier Silver, Bamboo Moon Blue, and Light Purple (only Pro) colors.

The Redmi K70 and the Remi K70 Pro release date should fall in the first quarter of 2024.
