Huawei P9 Max: 6.2’’, Kirin 950 and 4GB RAM scored 73,000 Antutu

So, when the beast Mate 8 of Huawei has not come yet, we continue to hear things about another…beast. It is called Huawei P9 Max. And according to the company, Huawei P9 Max launch is likely to happen on 26 November, 2015. Though we still have some more days to go, its Antutu score and specs have been leaked on the internet. Check them out!

Huawei

Huawei P9 Max: BEAST phablet from the Chinese giant phone maker

Accordingly, Huawei P9 Max specs include a 6.2-inch 2K display with 486 ppi, an octa-core Kirin 950 chip (which is the newest one made by Huawei) paired with GPU Mali-T880 MP4, 4GB of RAM, and 64GB of internal storage. In general, we can see that is smaller than its predecessor Huawei P8 Max (equipped with a 6.8-inch screen). Yet, it is surely more powerful in terms of display resolution (P8 Max only comes with Full HD) and operating system (P9 Max will run on Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS out of the box).

Although there are some specifications still unclear about the upcoming smartphone of Huawei, we are quite impressed by its AnTuTu score: 73,759 points generally and 16,822 points for the 3D graphics. It can beat a lot of flagships on the market now but.

Huawei P9 Max price and availability

Actually, they are still mysteries but it will not be so surprising if Huawei P9 takes up the Huawei P8 Max price, which is 3,788 Yuan (about RM2,600). So, our prediction is that the phone will range from RM2,500 to RM2,800. As for the Huawei P9 Max launch, it is said to be held this month and the handset will go on sale in December. Anyhow, let’s wait for the company’s official announcement.

In the end, we are looking forward to the new member of the Huawei P series and it is surely a great machine due to what we have been hearing. How about you? What do you think of Huawei P9 Max?

Huawei Mate 8 to feature Kirin 950 chip – more powerful than Galaxy S7

As we know, Huawei has been developing a new chip called HiSilicon Kirin 950, which is said to be powerful with the latest benchmark score exceeding the score of Exynos 7420 of Samsung and even Snapdragon 820. And important news is that Huawei is going to release this processor on 5 November, 2015 along with a flagship smartphone. We guess it can also be the strongest device on the market this month.

Kirin 950

– Single-core test: 1,909 points

– Multi-core test: 6,096 points

Exynos 7420

– Single-core test: 1,486 points

– Multi-core test: 4,970 points

On the other hand, recently, we have seen a teaser by the company.

s_471a42d642c24cad906c1ac8c116f8e2

We think that the 5 November event is just for the chip itself and the handset has to wait until 26 November 2015. You would wonder what it is, right?! From the teaser, we immediately figure out that it has to be Huawei Mate 8, the successor to Huawei Mate 7, not Huawei Mate S as many people thought.

This time, Huawei Mate 8 specs will include the gorgeous Kirin 950 chipset and according to Huawei CEO Yu Chengdong, a speaker at the Huawei Watch launch event for Vogue in Shanghai, it would be the Huawei equivalent of the iPhone 6S Plus. That is so promising!

Apart from that, Yu added the Huawei Mate 8 launch together with Huawei Mate S were expected to exceed their 100 million units sold goal for the 2016 fiscal year. This announcement seems to be drawing a lot of people’s attention though we do not know more about detailed Huawei Mate 8 specs as well price. But, it is predicted that the Huawei Mate 8 price will range from $400 to $550 (RM1,720 to RM2,370). In addition, Richard Yu claimed that he has been using the Mate 8 for the past few weeks and he was sure its camera and display would become the main selling points of the device.

To recap, Huawei is leading the smartphone market in China and they may also want to be in the top of the world, too. With the Kirin 950 and Huawwei Mate 8, it is probably they will be able to do it. Just wait a bit more!

Huawei beats Xiaomi to be NO.1 in China’s smartphone shipment

With 81% year-on-year shipment growth, Huawei has become the champion of China’s Smartphone Battle. Congrats!

Huawei beats Xiaomi to be NO.1 in China’s smartphone shipment

According to a new survey, Huawei was able beat Xiaomi to get the top spot No. 1 smartphone market in the world in the Q3 of 2015. It also was the first year-over-year decline in phone shipments of Xiaomi. Things are changing!

Specifically, Canalys, a research firm stated that the phone shipments of Xiaomi fell 8% in the quarter 3 while those of Huawei jumped 81% but without specifics of their market-share data. In the Q2, Xiaomi used to have a 15.9% share of the market and Huawei 15.7% share, yet we think the numbers are going to be different in the last 3 months.

In fact, this result is not very surprising since Huawei is one of “the world’s largest suppliers of networking gear used by telecommunications carriers” and is expanding their smartphone business. Back to the second quarter, Huawei was reported to be the “world’s third-largest smartphone vendor behind Samsung Electronics Co. and Apple Inc.” and almost half of the Huawei’s handsets have been mainly sold in the markets of Europe, the Middle East and Africa. They are actually growing pretty well though their machines’ prices are higher than those of Xiaomi in general: Huawei’s average smartphone sales price was $282 (RM1,190) while Xiaomi’s was $149 (RM630) in China in the Q2.

On the other hand, we wonder if Xiaomi can still be able to complete their target of selling 80-100 million smartphones globally this year. If in the first half of 2015 Xiaomi said they sold out 34.7 million units, they will have to sell 46 million or more and now their shipment growth is decreasing.

Anyhow, Xiaomi conpany has replied that “the China market is still big enough. Xiaomi’s focus is user experience and product innovation, and not just specifically seeking flashy numbers and the top market seat” in a Weibo post written by Xiaomi’s spokesman Tony Wei.

In conclusion, we would like to congratulate Huawei on their new achievement but they also should keep doing well like that because Xiaomi is not just a small manufacturer; they can get back on track any time.

Huawei Honor 7i vs Lenovo ZUK Z1: the battle you just CAN’T miss

We have just seen the debuts of 2 new smartphones in the last few days and they have brought some good impressions to the public. Those guys all have some special features to stay in people’s minds. So, in order to see how different they are and which one is better than the other, we would like to take a look at them in terms of designs, specs and prices. Then, tell us which is your winner!

huawei honor 7i vs lenovo zuk z1

HUAWEI HONOR 7i VS LENOVO ZUK Z1

Firstly, it is about the design. We can see that ZUK (backed by Lenovo) has chosen a safer way to design their ZUK Z1 with a metal frame together with glass material. That is quite a common look we usually spot on some flagship smartphones. Meanwhile, Huawei Honor 7i decided to stand out by getting rid of the the front-facing camera and adding a flipping one, instead. It means that with just one shooter, you can use it to take quality photos or selfies whenever you like.

Moreover, Huawei Honor 7i also sports a fingerprint sensor on one side of the device while that of ZUK Z1 is placed in its home button, which is what we usually see in phones on the market nowadays. ZUK Z1 can totally be proud of its modern USB Type-C port because Honor 7i does not have it. So, chin up ZUK Z1 and congrats Honor 7i on your interesting design!

Next, we’ll come to the specs, comparison. Basing on the following table, you can notice the differences more clearly:

Huawei Honor 7i Specs

Lenovo ZUK Z1 Specs

Dimensions 143.2 x 71.9 x 8.5 mm 155.7 x 77.3 x 8.9 mm
Weight 157 g 175 g
Display 5.2-inch 1080 x 1920 pixels (~423 ppi pixel density) IPS LCD 5.5-inch 1080 x 1920 pixels (~401 ppi pixel density) IPS LCD
OS Android EMUI 3.1 UI CyanogenMod 12.1 based on Android OS, v5.1.1 (Lollipop)
Processor Qualcomm Snapdragon 616 octa-core 1.5 GHz 32-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 quad-core 2.5 GHz Krait 400
ROM 32 GB (expandable up to 32 GB) 64 GB (non-expandable)
RAM 3 GB 3 GB
Camera 13 MP Sony IMX230, Phase Detection Auto Focus for fast 0.1s focus, f/2.0 Rear: 13 MP, 4160 x 3120 pixels, autofocus, optical image stabilization, dual-LED flash

Front: 8 MP

Battery Li-Po 3100 mAh Non-removable Li-Po 4100 mAh
Color White, Gold White, Dark Gray
SIM Dual SIM Dual SIM (Nano-SIM, dual stand-by)

Well, it is not very hard to recognize the differences between Huawei Honor 7i and Lenovo ZUK Z1. If you care about the screen size, definitely ZUK Z1 is a better choice, for it comes with 5.5 inches. Nonetheless, the pixel density of Honor 7i is a bit higher that that of ZUK Z1 despite the same resolution.

About the processor, they both use Qualcomm chips but the models are not the same. ZUK Z1’s is SD805 (2.5GHz) which is faster than Honor 7i’s SD616 (1.5GHz). Though, they all boast 3GB RAM, which is much powerful than other 1GB or 2GB RAM phones.

As for the camera combo, we have to say that the 8MP front-facing snapper on ZUK Z1 is amazing already, even higher than Xiaomi Mi Note Pro or Sony Xperia Z3 Plus. Yet, if compared to Huawei Honor 7i in this case, the new ZUK smartphone has to step back a bit because its rival owns an up to 13MP selfie cam thanks to the flipping trick. As a result, selfie lovers will have to think a lot about choosing one of them.

Finally in this part, we would like to mention the battery capacity. It is obvious that Lenovo ZUK Z1 has better advantage due to its 4,100mAh. This can be the decisive feature that draws lots of buyers’ attention.

So, that’s all about the specs. How about the price?

Specifically, Lenovo ZUK Z1 kind of surprises people with the affordable Lenovo ZUK Z1 price 1,800 Yuan (about RM1,195) while the Huawei Honor 7i price is even lower: 1,599 Yuan (about RM1,062). Therefore, it seems like Huawei Honor 7i is a good option if your budget is just around  RM1,100.

Of course, that’s our opinion. They have their own strengths and weaknesses, so we need to carefully consider our needs and priorities. Hope that you can pick out the best one for you!

Huawei Nexus 6 leak: 5.7″ FHD AMOLED, Android Marshmallow and 8MP selfie cam

Say, we not only have Huawei Nexus (2015) which is in the works, but also have another Nexus device produced by Huawei called Huawei Nexus 6. So, the handset shown in the video is the phablet as mentioned. According to @onleaks, Huawei Nexus 6 will measure 59.4 x 78.3 x 6,6/8.5 mm, featuring a 5.7-inch FHD AMOLED display. Besides, it will be equipped with a stereo speaker on the front surface, a USB Type-C port, a fingerprint scanner and the newest OS Android 6.0 Marshmallow.

As for the processor, if it is out in the second half of 2015, it is likely that Huawei Nexus 6 will be powered by a Snapdragon 810 chip. Yet, we wonder why Google does not decide to use Snapdragon 820 which is more powerful and newer than SD810. Though, those pieces of info have not been officially confirmed by either Google or Huawei, so we’d better wait a bit more. Other Huawei Nexus 6 specs are 16GB or 32GB of internal storage, a combo of 13MP rear and 8MP selfie snapper.

From the video, the Huawei Nexus 6 black version is pretty impressive with a whole metal body. In general, the design looks very unique. Apart from the black color, Huawei Nexus 6 may come with 2 more color variants: Gray and gold.

To recap, another Google Nexus is rumored to come in the next months, launched by Huawei company, called Huawei Nexus 6. We still lack quite many important details about Huawei Nexus 6 specs, Huawei Nexus 6 launch date and Huawei Nexus 6 price. So, keep looking forward to this amazing phablet!

Huawei out Huawei Honor 7i with flipping camera for RM 1K

Recently, a new Huawei Honor machine has been launched in Beijing. And it is the Huawei Honor 7i that we heard about a lot of times a few weeks ago.

As what we informed you, this is a unique smartphone due to its camera. It appeared on TENAA with the model name ATH-ALoo. The smartphone was said to bring users interesting experience with a sliding camera. Specifically, it could slide up to show a front-facing shooter with an extra Xenon flash, which would allow you to take beautiful selfies in a whole new way.

But that was before the Huawei Honor 7i launch date. Things have been changed a bit. Honor 7i actually comes with a flipping, not sliding, snapper. Anyhow, it’s also…awesome, right?!

Compared to Huawei Honor 7, Huawei Honor 7i body is more rounded and made of plastic. The most highlighted feature is its flipping Sony 13MP f/2.0 cam, equipped with sapphire protection and dual LED flash. Interestingly, this cam can flip 180 degrees to become a front cam. You will still have the same 13MP sensor to capture anything you like.

Furthermore, Honor 7i has another special selling point you need to know. It is the fingerprint scanner built on one side of the phone, not on the back or in the home button as usual. That also makes Huawei Honor 7i the “industry’s first” phone sporting the “smallest fingerprint modules.” However, some people have pointed out that such a fingerprint scanner (FC) did exist before Honor 7i. And they were implying ZTE Nubia Z9 Exclusive version, whose FC is placed on its power button and volume rockers on one side of the handset.

In terms of other Huawei Honor 7i specs, there are a 5.2-inch Full HD IPS display with 423 ppi, a 64-bit octa-core Snapdragon 616 processor, and a 3,000mAh battery. Besides, you can choose either 2GB RAM plus 16GB ROM or 3GB RAM plus 32GB ROM edition. The whole phone runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop and Emotion UI 3.1, and supports a dual SIM, Bluetooth, GPS/ A-GPS, 3G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, and Micro-USB.

As for the Huawei Honor 7i price, you can find it right away in China with a price tag of 1,599 Yuan (approximately RM1,030) for 2GB RAM + 16GB ROM via China Mobile, but 1,699 Yuan (approximately RM1,094) via China Telecom and China Unicom for the same variant. The 3GB RAM + 32GB ver is available at 1,899 Yuan (approximately RM1,223) via those 3 mobile carriers. Yet, so far Huawei has not announced any plans to release Huawei Honor 7i on the international markets.

To recap, we are quite interested in this new Huawei Honor device and can’t wait to test its flipping camera and fingerprint scanner on the phone’s side. Hope that Huawei Honor 7i will soon arrive here in Malaysia!

Huawei Mate S: 20MP cam and iPhone 6S’s Force Touch

It has been quite a long time since we last heard something about a Huawei Mate member, so today we would like to introduce an upcoming machine of this series – Huawei Mate S, to you.

In preparation for a big event on September 2, 2015, Huawei company has announced their new handset called Mate S. The name was certified by GCF (Global Certification Forum), and it is quite impressive when said to sport the force touch tech of Apple iPhone 6S.

Basing on information related to this Mate S shown on AnTuTu benchmark with model number SUR-TL00, we know that it will feature a 5.7-inch FHD (1920 x 1080) display, 3GB RAM and 32GB of internal storage. As for the chip, the whole phone will be powered by HiSilicon Kirin 935 64-bit octa-core SoC processor, not Kirin 950 chip as what people have expected these days.

In terms of camera, there is a combo of 20MP shooter and a selfie one which has not been revealed yet. However, we still can hope to see a great front snapper, say, capable of 8 mega-pixels, which will be an ideal choice for selfie lovers.

Other Huawei Mate S specs also include the OS Android 5.0 Lollipop in combination with Huawei EMUI (Emotion UI) skin on top of it. Yet, we are afraid that the info about Huawei Mate S battery is still unclear. Though, rumors say that probably there will be a 4,500mAh cell put in charge of running the smartphone. That is even a lot larger than Samsung Galaxy Note 5 batt!

On the other hand, it is likely that a higher version of Huawei Mate S will be available with powerful 4GB RAM and 64GB ROM.

Besides those pieces of info, we also notice some leaked photos considered as the Huawei Mate S, which is going to debut at IFA 2015 this September. Nonetheless, they look a bit different from what is displayed on TENAA. Perhaps Huawei has decided to change something in Huawei Mate S design to make it more attractive. Let’s check it out!

Nexus (2015) leak with USB Type-C, fingerprint scanner and 4GB RAM

Recently, a Twitter user @onleaks has revealed some pictures Google Nexus, showing some detailed interesting features. Want to know what they are, keep reading ;).

Looking at the pics, we see that the devices will be equipped with a USB Type C port and a fingerprint scanner on the back. Moreover, it is somehow proved that Huawei-made and LG-made Nexus will be likely to have a 5.7-inch and a 5.2-inch screen, respectively. On the other hand, we are also informed of the dimensions of the Nexuses: 146.9 x 72.9 x 8/9.8mm for LG Nexus and 159.4 x 78.3 x 6.6/8.5mm for Huawei one.

From the leak, we notice that both Google Nexuses will come with metal material, yet there is a different point in the design. While Huawei decides to provide their machine with an all-alloy body, LG just takes a metal frame for theirs.

So, if we combine these new details with what we have got so far, the picture of Google Nexus is quite completed. According to previous rumors , Huawei Nexus will sport 2K screen, a Snapdragon 810 processor, 4GB RAM, a Sony IMX230 21MP back camera, and support Rezence/WiPower wireless charging support.

Meanwhile, LG Nexus will feature only a FHD display, a Snapdragon 620 processor, 4GB LPDDR3-1866 RAM, 64GB of storage, a Sony IMX278 RGBW 13MP rear shooter along with optical image stabilization. Other specs include a non-removable 3,180mAh battery 3180, Quick Charge 2.0, and MediaTek MT3188 chipset.

Of course, no matter who produces Nexus, it is still a Google’s brand and definitely will inherite all the best and latest and advanced technologies from Google. That will be where Huawei and LG meet each other! They both will be able to apply Android M to their handsets.

In conclusion, after the one of the most famous flagships of the season Samsung Galaxy Note 5 has been launched, Google Nexus (2015) is the next one we are looking forward to. Hope that more information will be released in the near future. Now, look the gallery of Nexus leaked photos and tell us what you think 🙂 !
