Meizu MX5 vs Huawei Honor 7: Hottest Flagship Fight of the month!

Meizu MX5 and Huawei Honor 7, both are the newest smartphones of their manufacturers and launched on the same day. Therefore, they cannot avoid a comparison in terms of specs, design and prices.

Before going into differences between Huawei Honor 7 and Meizu MX5, we would like to say something about what they have in common. Firstly, they debuted on the same day, June 30, 2015. Secondly, they are flagship phones representing their well-known brands in China, Huawei and Meizu. Last but not least, they are all FHD and 3GB RAM devices. Though 3GB is not as strong as the most powerful 4GB nowadays, it still can promise you good performances.

Now we would like to take a closer look at some main differences between Meizu MX5 and Huawei Honor 7:

Meizu MX5 vs Huawei Honor 7: Design

As we can see, both Meizu MX5 and Huawei Honor 7 own full-alloy bodies, yet MX5 has a bit more rounded corners than its peer. Owning a smaller screen, the Honor 7 is also smaller in dimensions: 143.2 x 71.9 mm vs 149.9 x 74.7 mm of MX5. However, it does not make Honor 7 slimmer than MX5. In fact, Honor 7 is thin at 8.5 mm while the MX5 measures just 7.6 mm. Moreover, MX5 is even lighter than the Honor 7: 149 grams vs 157 grams, respectively. Apart from those things, the color options are not very different.

Looking at the specs table, we notice that both devices are quite different from each other when it comes to their key features:

Display

As we have mentioned above, Huawei Honor 7 has a smaller screen, 5.2-inches to be specific, while MX5 goes with 5.5 inches. Despite the same FHD display, Honor 7 comes with a higher pixel density: 424ppi vs 401ppi of MX5. Yet, it does not turn out that this Meizu phone will lose to Huawei, for MX5 features a AMOLED panel, which will help render colors better than the IPS panel display on the Honor friend.

Fingerprint scanner

The Honor 7 has a rear fingerprint scanner placed on the back, similar to that of Huawei Mate 7. Meanwhile, MX5 comes with a fingerprint sensor too but not on the back; it’s built in the home button which Meizu company calls the mTouch reader. So, in general, some people find it more convenient when using the scanner on the front surface because they will be able to unlock the phone lying on a table without picking it up and turn. Well, how about you? Which one would you prefer? Front or back?

Cameras

First, we have to say that they both have a great combo of camera, up to 20MP or even more for the rear cam and 5MP or more for the front-facing shooter. Of course, MX5’s main cam is a bit better than Honor 7’s (20.7MP vs 20MP, respectively). Nonetheless, Honor 7 boasts a brighter lens with f/2.0 aperture, protected by sapphire glass compared to the MX5’s f/2.2 lens, protected by a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass 3. On the other hand, the MX5 comes with a faster laser auto-focus than the phase detection auto-focus technology found in Honor 7.

For those who love taking selfies, perhaps Honor 7 would be a better choice since it has a more powerful 8-megapixel selfie snapper; MX5 has only 5-megapixel sensor.

Battery

In terms of cell, there is a very slight difference: 3100mAh for Honor and 3150mAh for MX5. Tehy two come with support for fast charging tech.

Meizu MX5 vs Huawei Honor 7: Prices

Meizu MX5 is going on sale with three variants as the following: 1,800 Yuan (RM1,098) for 16GB, 1,999 Yuan (RM1,219) for 32GB, and 2,399 Yuan (RM1,463) for 64GB.

Overall, it is easy to see that Huawei Honor 7 is a bit more expensive than the Meizu MX5.

Conclusion:

No matter how different they are, we want to welcome both of them to be on-board. They are the newest ones up to now, coming with pretty good specs, designs and prices.

Huawei Nexus 2015 Beast confirmed by employee!?

UPDATED NEWS: Huawei Nexus 2015 specs have been leaked!

After the partnership between Huawei and Google was confirmed by an employee of Huawei in the UK, now we’ve got an even more exciting new about the Huawei Nexus 2015 specs. A popular leakster @evleaks has just revealed some detailed features of one of the most anticipated flagship in the H2 of 2015.

leak

According to the leaks, the handset will be equipped with the upcoming Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 SoC, a 5.7-inch QHD screen, and a fingerprint scanner. Moreover, the Nexus produced by Huawei will start its shipment in the Q4.

So, it is important to note that we are glad to be informed of the Huawei Nexus 2015, but we should take the info as a pinch of salt. None of the specs is claimed officially. Anyhow, if that the case, Huawei Nexus 2015 will be worth the wait!

———————

Over the last months, we are informed of the new Google Nexus in 2015 produced by Huawei manufacturer. And now we have got a publication claiming to have received confirmation. Actually, this information is from a Huawei employee in the UK.

Huawei Nexus 2015

1

Of course, the new Nexus will be coming at the end of 2015. Huawei and Google are working well together to release an amazing smartphone. It is also quite easy to notice that Huawei company wants to get their brand name more recognized in the mobile market, which can be helped by the association with Google in the Nexus project. So, we guess that they will try their best to make an outstanding Nexus.

On the other hand, sources say that Huawei will not be able to put the Nexus on sale in their home market, which is China for sure. It is because most Google Services have been banned in China. Yet, who knows what can happen in the next months. Everything can be changed. Perhaps Huawei Nexus 2015 with the same hardware but with tweaked software will debut here.

However, there are not many details spotted for this flagship device. What we’ve got so far is some leaks mentioning that Huawei Nexus will own a 5.7-inch QHD screen and a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor. Some even says that Nexus is likely to draw its inspiration from Huawei P8. Though, Huawei has not confirmed anything officially while Google refused to give any comments. So, we should be waiting.

To recap, once again there is information saying that the next Google Nexus generation will come out this year! And this time, it is claimed by a Huawei employee. It increases the possibility of the appearance of Huawei Nexus around the end of the year. Worth waiting, right?!
