Regarding the global return of Note 7, Samsung Malaysia is announcing the local policy for ex-owners of the short-lived flagship. For further information, let’s read on…
Galaxy Note 7: exchange or refund
After the Galaxy Note 7 explosion incidents, Samsung has proven to everyone that they are one of the best smartphone brands in customer service. After recalling Note 7 for the second time, the head of Samsung bowed and apologized in front of the press. In addition, this Korean brand also compensates to their customers. They do it in the US, Taiwan, and now Malaysia.
In Malaysia, Samsung gives their customers two options: refund or exchange. If you chose the “exchange” resolution, you will have a Galaxy S7 Edge. To have this phone, you don’t have to pay any more penny. In contrast, you will receive RM. 300 for the offset. This money will be transferred to your bank account. You just need to bring your bank statement and identity card. For those who want a refund, just bring along your Note 7, a box, bank statement, and identity card.
Samsung only requires you to return Note 7 and the box. All the other accessories like fast charger, earphones, USB Type C, etc can be kept. If you don’t want to keep these accessories, you can give them back and take a refund, as long as you keep the receipt/bill. If you are bought the phone screen warranty and you choose the “exchange” option, this warranty will be applied for S7 Edge.
Samsung: on the way to gain the customer trust back
After Galaxy Note 7 explosions, the customers are losing their faith in Samsung. They even said that they won’t buy any products of the company anymore. Samsung is trying their best to gain back the customer trust. This “refund or exchange” campaign is one of their solutions. With the great customer service, Samsung is believed to gain their customers faith soon.
90% of Note 7 ex-users switch for Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge!
As we have mentioned in a previous article, the way Samsung deal with the scandal of Note 7 explosion has proven how much they care for their customers! Now, it looks like that strategy has worked out! Reportedly, most Note 7 users choose to switch for Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge!
Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge sales number has dramatically increased!
In case you missed, Samsung has officially put an end to Samsung Galaxy Note 7 production after series of scandals. To ease their customers, the Korean brand offers a complete refund for those who has bought a Note 7. In Taiwan, Samsung even decided to bonus $25 for users to buy a new smartphone from another brand. For those who want to exchange their Note7 with another Samsung product, the bonus is almost 4 times higher: 95$.
In addition, because there is a big price gap between Samsung Galaxy Note 7 and another Samsung phone, users also receive another sum of money. To be more specific, if users want to switch to S7 Edge, they will receive back the $125 to $155, which is equal to the gap between S7 Edge price and Note7 price. Similarly, if users want to replace note7 with Note5, they will be given from $125 to $220.
So far, that wonderful refund policy has lead to a positive result! According to the sales statistic provided by Taiwanese retailers, 90% of Note7 users decide to switch to Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge. As a result, the sales number of this curved screen flagship has increased so dramatically that Samsung has to speed up the production of Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge!
Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge sales increase – a good news for Samsung
This is such great news for Samsung after the brand has lost 2 or 3 billions USD of capital and up to 40 billions USD of share value. The sales increase of Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge is a living evidence of how important a brand’s customer service is! What is your opinion about this? Do you think Samsung will soon get back to the competition?
Note 7 explosion proves Samsung customer service at its best
The scandal of Note 7 explosion has cost Samsung billions of USD and partially destroyed their reputation. However, when we consider the way they handled the situation, there’s one thing of Samsung that is worth our appreciation: their customer service!
Note 7 explosion: Samsung customer service is highly appreciated
Customer service is one of the most important factors that define the succeed of a company. Good customer service not only builds the reputation of the brand but also results in a great base of loyal customers. While Apple has done a very good job in this, Samsung, after the scandal of Note 7 explosion, has also proved how much they care for their customers. The way they handled the Note 7 “nightmare” is absolutely the best we could ask for.
First of all, it is a huge sacrifice that Samsung decided to end Samsung Galaxy Note 7 for good. It’s worth mentioning that Note 7 is NOT a common smartphone of this Korean company. It is supposed to be their leading flagship in the whole H2, 2016. However, after the Note 7 explosion accident, Samsung still decided to put an end to their own “child”, regardless of how much effort they have put to produce and promote this product!
Samsung even decided to offer a complete refund for those who return the Note 7 they bought, without any conditions attached. The first replacement program has cost Samsung one billion USD and the second one has “burned” another one or two billion of Samsung’s bank account. The entire process has made this Korean giant loose up to 40 billion USD of market share! This is a sacrifice that not every smartphone brand is willing to make.
Note 7 explosion: A lesson to learn!
In the end, Samsung did make a huge mistake in the production of Note 7. However, the way they take care of their customers after the scandal is really a big bonus. The brand also comes up with new plans. Two of them are Samsung Galaxy S8 and Samsung Galaxy C9, which have been leaked recently. Let’s wait and see what Samsung will do to reenter the smartphone competition!

Samsung Galaxy Note 7 – the death of a flagship
Yesterday, we heard from a Korean News Agency that Galaxy Note 7 has been decided to be stopped, temporarily. Just a day later, Wall Street Journal and Bloomberg are reporting that; bitter as it may sound, Samsung has made their final decision to stop this flagship forever. And this announcement is valid as of right now. Yes, you are hearing it right, we are here to say a final goodbye to Note 7 – once upon a dream phone.
In retrospect, this decision is a result of a continuous series of reported explosion from Note 7 users all over the world. Not to mention a considerable bad impression for the brand name and a lack in the Galaxy Note lineup. And if we look at a bigger picture, Samsung just lost a major market share to Apple, in the battle between Note 7 and iPhone in the global market.

This is such a pity to witness all the bad lucks happening to Samsung and their most premium smartphone thus far. While many of us haven’t even got the chance to experience Note 7, the phone is already discontinued, for forever. This is absolutely a bitter lesson Samsung learnt, in the intense battle of the ever-growing smartphone industry. (Source)
