Sony Xperia C6 leaked with border-less design, 5.5″ FHD and…
Sony Xperia C6 has been spotted and predicted to be a surprise at MWC 2016 instead of CES 2016. Check out what has been leaked and tell us what you think about the phone…
Sony Xperia C6: A handier selfie-centric smartphone…
Many people as well as Sony fans were kind of… sad when Sony did not show up at CES 2016 with new products. However, this somehow makes the theory that Sony will do something real big at the upcoming MWC 2016 even more possible. Besides the next flagship Sony Xperia Z6, we also expect other fantastic handsets from the company just like what they released in 2015, including the selfie-centric phone Sony Xperia C5 Ultra.
Lately, we have seen a handset appearing on the internet and it is considered as the Sony Xperia C5 Ultra’s successor but with a smaller size, so that they call it Sony Xperia C6 only, without “Ultra”. Looking at the pictures, we can recognize not only some familiar Sony design trademarks but also a great edge-to-edge display, pretty much like the C5 Ultra with 6.0-inch FHD screen. Nonetheless, we guess because of sporting 5.5-inch Full HD screen, it cannot be named Sony Xperia C6 Ultra.
Besides the display, we heard that Sony Xperia C6 specs would probably contain an octa-core MediaTek Helio P10 2.0GHz chip, which is absolutely stronger than the C5 Ultra’s Mediatek MT6752 processor. And hopefully, C6 will still keep the gorgeous 13MP selfie camera to make it outstanding from other smartphones on the market.
Sony Xperia C6 price and availability
As we mentioned, Sony missed a chance to impress people at CES 2016, so they’d better prepare well for MWC 2016. Sony Xperia C6 seems a pretty good device and hope that it will come to MWC 2016 with a bigger sibling called C6 Ultra. As for the price, C6 can cost around $380 once going on sale. Yet, let’s wait for the firm’s official announcement.
Top 5 Sony Xperia smartphones of 2015: 4K display, 23MP, 3,100 mAH
2015 has been a successful year for Sony, with the release and positive sales of many Xperia smartphones. Let’s take a look at the best 5 Sony Xperia smartphones, as we are seeing off the year…
1. Sony Xperia Z5 Family
Sony Xperia Z5 Family is definitely the best products Sony ever produced, not to mention in 2015. Sony Xperia Z5 Premium is no doubt one of the super stars of 2015-2016 period with beautiful 4K display to impress many users. Sony Xperia Z5 – original version also wins the title “best camera smartphone” with their gorgeous 23MP Sony sensor.
Sony rumored to be developing their own Sony smartphone chip
Not long ago, we heard that Sony could possibly stop producing mobiles in the future but it would not happen. Instead, they are trying to find a way to develop their smartphone division mroe and more. Maybe that is why a Sony chip will be seen soon!
Sony rumored to be developing their own smartphone chip
If that is the case, Sony will be the next giant smartphone manufacturer, after Samsung, Huawei, Apple and LG to have their own Sony smartphone chip. Of course, it will be used for Sony devices first, which will also become an identity for Sony products. During the past time, Qualcomm and MediaTek have been the main processor suppliers for Sony handsets. They are good but sometimes problems occur and Sony cannot do many things to solve them at once. They have to wait for the suppliers’ resolution.
That could be a reason why this Japanese guy wants to produce a chip, so they can control things much more effectively. At the moment, we are wondering what name Sony will give their chipset. Huawei has HiSilicon Kirin; Samsung has Exynos; Apple has Apple A chip series; and even LG is developing their own Nuclun chip. However, in fact, Samsung with the coming Exynos 8890 is kind of more standing out and attracting many people due to its high productivity, especially when it is going to power their next flagship Samsung Galaxy S7.
As for Sony, we hope they can find a great name for a great chip which will bring the best performance for all Sony smartphones. If so, the company will be able to increase the sales and there will be no rumor like the cancellation of Sony smartphone division anymore. Do you think so?
Should they stay the same or go their own way?
Anyhow, there is another possibility that Sony cannot do it right away, but in the near future, they may design the chip and have another partner mass-produce it. Let’s wait and see! Yet, yould you prefer Sony to stay the same as now or go for a totally new thing like that?
Sony Xperia Z5 camera update: 23MP is now better with…
Sony Xperia Z5 camera is definitely the beast among all mobile devices in our market. Needless to say, its 23MP IMX 300 sensor has been certified as the best smartphone camera to date. Popular as it already is, Sony doesn’t seem to be contented with “just” that. The Japanese giant has just introduced a new function for their Xperia Z5 camera, promising even better experience for users.
Sony Xperia Z5 camera: the best is becoming better
If you are also using an Xperia smartphone, you may know how the camera app operates. For now, an update has been launched for the Xperia Z5 family only, making it easier to switch between camera modes.
This update simplifies the camera interface. Before, you need to touch and go to the menu, then touch once more to choose the mode you like. But for now, with one single swipe, you can change between Superior Auto, Manual, Video and other camera apps.
The new Sony camera interface was actually previewed for the first time back in IFA 2015 (happened on this September), and is now reaching out to Sony Xperia Z5, Xperia Z5 Compact and Xperia Z5 Premium smartphones. If you are owning on of these high-end devices, check it out to make sure you know this new advantage. We hope to read about your experience after update share in the comment below!
Sony Xperia Z5 camera: new smartphone trend 2016?
In case you haven’t heard about it, Sony Xperia Z5 camera is currently featuring a 23MP with IMX 300 sensor, special by Sony, and a super fast auto focus of only 0.03s. The IMX 300 is so good that Samsung got impressed and said to be negotiating with Sony in order to take over this for their upcoming flagship Galaxy S7 of 2016. I started to wonder whether this will make a new trend among high-end smartphones of 2016!
Sony Xperia Z5 camera has received a lot of praise so far. Now with the new update, we are excited for Sony for more and more compliments on the way. Sony Xperia Z5 price in Malaysia starts from RM 2,6K, and varies with different versions.
Sony Xperia Z5 Plus: 23MP and Snapdragon 820 for 2016
Sony Xperia Z5 family is the lastest high-end flagship smartphones by the Japanese company. The devices, enlisted Sony Xperia Z5, Z5 Compact and Z5 Premium comes with super high-class features like 23MP camera, 4K display etc. By now, Sony is even planning a new version for 2016, with the upcoming Snapdragon 820 chip set: Sony Xperia Z5 Plus. Let’s see what Sony Xperia Z5 Plus offers beyond what the other 3 already covered.
Sony Xperia Z5 Plus: first Snapdragon 820 smartphone
We all know that Qualcomm’s premium chip for high end smartphone, Snapdragon 820 will be out next year 2016. This Sony Xperia Z5 Plus is targeted to be one of the first mobile devices to try on that chip set. Sony Xperia Z5 Plus specs we know for now include: 5.3 inch FHD IPS Display, 4GB RAM, 23MP camera with the famous IMX 300 sensor that Samsung is trying to buy. To power the handset we have 3100 mAH battery and of course, Snapdragon 820 processor.
Sony Xperia Z5 Plus design
Sony Xperia Z5 Plus is actually a concept designed by Babak Soren. He is the same designer for Sony Xperia S5 concept that we all love. Sony Xperia Z5 Plus design comes with different color options to best fit a wider range of customers.
The idea of the Xperia Z5 Plus is definitely wise: it carries all of the best features proven to be loved from the predecessor Xperia Z5, plus one of the most expected chip sets to launch 2016. These things, all together, make Xperia Z5 Plus a desirable device that will surely be a Bomb in the market next year, if launched and priced properly.
Sony Xperia Z5 Plus release and pricing
Sony Xperia Z5 Plus is for now, still an inspiring concept smartphone. However, since it is very close to reality and has good connection with the already-launched Sony Xperia Z5 family, chances for it to be produced is very high.
Featuring Snapdragon 820, we hope Sony will set the Xperia Z5 Plus release in early 2016 to lead the trend. Sony Xperia Z5 Plus price should vary between Xperia Z5 price and Xperia Z5 Premium price.
Sony Xperia Z5 series to save more energy with improved Stamina Mode in Andorid 6.0
Today, smartphones can do a lot of things, more than what we usually dreamed of. But, it is easily to see that there is one problem which prevents them to help us 24/7. Can you guess?
Yes, it is the problem of power: BATTERY. No matter how huge it is, your phone will always run out of energy and then you have to charge them for some hours. One thing we are worrying about now is that when Android Marshmallow officially arrives, your handset is going to get worse in terms of battery life. Related to this issue, lately we have spotted a strong claim from Sony on Twitter:
So, what is Stamia Mode and why is it so… magical?
Stamina Mode is a specific feature basically deactivating data during the time the screen is off. In other words, it does not allow apps to sync or check notifications. Besides, it also blocks data transmission that is likely to turn the screen on. Though, incoming phone calls, SMS and MMS will still come through along with alarms, calendar notifications, and LED when needed (specifically when the device wants to warn you about low battery). That is how Stamina Mode can help save energy 🙂 !
However, in fact, users normally do not like to turn Stamina Mode on all day long but it will become a “life saver” when the cell percentage is too low and you do not bring the charger with you and still have lots of things to do. As for Android 6.0 Marshmallow, it has a new feature called Doze, which thoroughly tracks app usage without taking a break. So, we guess Stamina Mode would be very useful in such cases.
Back to the post, Sony announced that Sony Xperia Z5 series (consisting of Xperia Z5, Z5 Compact and Z5 Premium) would even have improved Stamina Mode in Android 6.0 OS to make the battery live longer (yeah, but we’re not sure about the “champion” part 😀 ). We hope they can do it this time since previously, when Sony Xperia Z5 launch just happened, the manufacturer also said that all the three Sony Xperia Z5 models would be able to reach two-day battery life. Nonetheless, many reviews have been spotted mentioning not all of them can do it.
In the end, Sony must have their own secret weapon once releasing such a firm claim. Let’s wait and see!

Sony Xperia S5: Dual display, 21MP cam and Helio X20 chip
Sony is one of the most famous and biggest smartphone manufacturers in the world. Therefore, their new products usually draw much attention from people. Moreover, Sony phone concepts are also welcome. So, today, we would like to bring you something like that which is called Sony Xperia S5.
At first sight, we are impressed with its design made by a designer named Babak Soren. Actually, he has not been very happy with the current Sony Xperia Z5 line-up, so he decided to create his own flagship smartphone Sony Xperia S5 instead of Z5 😀 . Looking at the pictures, we are quite impressed with these tribal models as well as its user interface.
In terms of Sony Xperia S5 specs, the handset is said to have a 5.5-inch OLED screen (but the resolution is not mentioned) and an e-paper one (which can help save a lot of power), which means that S5 owns a dual display like YotaPhone. The whole machine is powered by a MediaTek Helio X20 processor (instead of Snapdragon 810 chip used in the real Sony Xperia Z5 perhaps to avoid the heating issue) and 4 GB of RAM.
As for the camera, it features a 21MP rear shooter with IMX230 sensor, but we cannot find any information related to the selfie snapper. Hope that it is capable of 5-8 megapixels to make S5 a great device for selfie lovers. In addition, there are a 3,700mAh battery on-board and even a stylus as well. That could be inspired by Samsung Galaxy Note series! Yet, do you like it to have such a tool to come along?
Sony Xperia S5 Release Date and Price
Well, those are the main details about the concept Sony Xperia S5. As a result, its price is unknown also. Though, can you give Sony any suggestion for Sony Xperia S5 price? Just in case they want to adopt this idea 🙂 .
Sony shows off Sony STARVIS – super high light sensitivity sensor
Not long ago, we saw Canon introduce their a prototype ultra-high sensitivity 35mm full-frame CMOS sensor at Canon EXPO Paris 2015. And it was able to amaze people with what it could capture when taken into the “Blue Milky Way” of Waitomo glowworm caves in New Zealand. Anyway, it is not our star today. In this post, we want you to know the Canon’s rival: Sony Starvis.
Lately, Sony has launched a new image sensor called STARVIS, excelling in taking photos in low-light condition. Unfortunately, this is not designed for smartphones but industrial applications like a observation camera. Accordingly, the new CMOS sensor can feature extremely high sensitivity to capture images at night that are quality enough to use.
Sony Starvis is able to increase night vision thanks to Sony’s extension of the sensor’s sensitivity beyond the visible light range into the near-infrared range. So, to make you see the real strength of SONY STARVIS, let’s have a look at the following video, and you know we are not kidding 😉 :
“It features a sensitivity of 2000 mV or more per 1 µm2, and realizes high picture quality in the visible-light and near infrared light regions,” said Sony.
In recent years Sony sensors have been gaining a lot of good feedback for their capabilities of taking pictures in low light environments. Furthermore, we can easily realize that consumers seem to prefer machines having cameras equipped with Sony sensors more than others, especially in smartphone area. So, with STARVIS, Sony’s history continues and develops more. And we guess that if any company or store could have a security cam containing this sensor, burglars would not dare to come 😀 .
In conclusion, Sony Starvis actually has come less than two months after Canon ME20F-SH, capable of shooting at ISO 4,560,000. But, who will win the race of super high sensitivity sensor?

Sony Xperia Z5 Dual hands-on: 3GB RAM, Snapdragon 810 and 23MP camera
As we know, Sony Xperia Z5 Dual has 4 colors for you to choose: White, Graphite Black, Gold, and Green. Recently, we have spotted some awesome Sony Xperia Z5 Dual hands-on pictures of the Green version and wanted to share them with you guys. Check them out now!
In terms of Sony Xperia Z5 Dual look, it uses OmniBalance design which is typical for the high-end Xperia series, including an all-alloy cover and rounded corners to bring consumers a premium feeling. However, there is one difference to tell Z5 Dual and the previous predecessors apart. It is the XPERIA logo carved beautifully on one side of the device.
On the right side of Z5 Dual, we have physical buttons for taking photos, adjusting volume, and turning on/off the handset (home button with fingerprint sensor). Meanwhile, the left side only consists of SIM and microSD card slot covered carefully. Similar to many other Xperia machines, Xperia Z5 is IP68 certified for dust proof and water resistant over 1.5 meter and 30 minutes.
As for Sony Xperia Z5 Dual specs, it features a 5.2-inch Full HD screen, a Qualcomm MSM8994 Snapdragon 810 octa-core chip plus 3GB of RAM. The front snapper is capable of 5.1 megapixels, using Exmor R sensor and 25mm wide angle. On the other hand, the rear camera is pretty strong due to the 23MP cam, also using Exmor RS sensor with 0.03s focusing, Clear Image Zoom 5x tech, ISO support 12,800 when capturing pics and iSO 3,200 when shooting videos. In addition, the company also equips the phone with 4K video support.

If Sony profit in 2016 keeps dropping, we will not see Sony phones anymore?
I know many of you out here are big Sony fans, or at least, many of you here are impressed by the latest Sony flagships such as Xperia Z5. Despite the fact that there are attractive and awesome devices, Sony still has some that failed to make good sales because of their high prices…
According to Sony Mobiles, the past couple of years have been very tough on them, talking about their mobile business. The company’s shares in the global market kept dropping, and so did their number of handsets shipped worldwide.
Sony phones alert – profits endangered
With such business condition, Kazuo Hirai, Sony’s Chief Executive has announced that, the company may start to look for “alternative options” if their profit doesn’t improve in 2016.
Here is what he said in exact quoting:
“We will continue with the business as long as we are on track with the scenario of breaking even next year onwards … Otherwise, we haven’t eliminated the consideration of alternative options.” – Sony Chief Executive Kazuo Hirai
It seems that Sony has been struggling quite considerably before deciding to publish this intention to the internet. Although we can’t deny their efforts in trying to excel in the mobile industry, the bitter fact is that their Xperia brand is fading considerably.
So far, Sony Mobiles division has claimed a 60 billion yen (which is around 480 million dollars) loss this year. This is way too much, much higher than the expected loss of 39 billion yen the company predicted back in April 2015 –> Yes, now you know how serious the situation is!
Sony smartphones decline – Why?
Using a Sony smartphone myself (a Sony Xperia M4 Aqua), and despite my love for it so far, I personally can spotted several reasons why Sony is not doing so great any more compare to other competitors. Firstly, the company focuses on quality. But quality itself is not enough nowadays. You need fancy design, affordable price and innovations. Many people complain recent Xperia smartphones look mostly, if not exactly the same. And Sony Xperia smartphones keep coming with average battery capacity and rather over-average pricing.
In conclusion, we cannot tell much now whether Sony will quit making smartphones or not. But, let’s hope for a bright future of Sony phones!
Very FIRST smartphones coming with HUGE 6GB RAM in the world !!!
This year, we have witnessed the birth of the world’s first 4GB RAM smartphone coming from ASUS, and then it has been turning into a gorgeous trend. Most mobile manufacturers have at least one device sporting 4GB RAM. So, we guess that since this feature is becoming so popular as time passes by, something more remarkable will be invented. And, it seems like this time it will be Samsung to lead the game. They are said to be working on a new LPDDR4 DRAM for the next Generation 6GB RAM smartphones, hopefully in 2016.
Here we are in the last months of 2015, which is also the right time for us to start looking around for leaked news about the first smartphones to come with such gigantic 6GB RAM.
Check out the following 5 devices we collected from the internet!
1. Samsung Galaxy S7
First, we have the flagship Samsung Galaxy S7, the successor to the well-known dual Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 edge. Of course Samsung will not want to miss this chance to be the pioneer. We can easily see that Galaxy S7 is coming and Samsung is rumored to be release a 6GB RAM phone in the future. So, why can’t S7 be that 6GB RAM smartphone?
According to the leak, Samsung Galaxy S7 specs will include a dual camera setup, 6GB of RAM, and a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor. Though there is no word made for the Samsung Galaxy S7 camera sensor at the moment, we believe they will just make it super well, for this giant has been famous all over the world for their premium shooters.
2. ASUS ZenFone 3
Coming up next is the ASUS ZenFone 3. Some people think perhaps ASUS will be able to repeat their success with ASUS ZenFone 2 and it can be the ZenFone 3 to be the world’s first 6GB RAM device, not the Galaxy S7. Who knows, right? Earlier, some said the ASUS ZenFone 3 would come with 5GB RAM, yet it was before Samsung announced their 6GB RAM for smartphones. As a result, our logic is that ASUS will grab this chance to join the 6GB RAM battle!
3. Sony Xperia QT
Sony Xperia Q line is a concept which quite surprises us. They are pretty awesome, honestly. They mention that there will be two versions named Sony Xperia QA and Sony Xperia QT. While the Xperia QA only sports 3GB RAM, making it a lower end variant, the Sony Xperia QT specs will be the higher end one and totally fit our category in this post when boasting 6GB of RAM.
Sony Xperia QT concept specs:

- Weight: 200g

Symetium is a company located in Sweden and they are starting a very ambitious smartphone project. It is reported that the company is raising a $1,250,000 fund in order to produce a product called “the no-compromise smartphone PC”.
