Updated Xiaomi Redmi 2 with 2GB RAM and 16GB ROM Gets Certification
Xiaomi had an extremely successful 2014 and we expect 2015 to be even more successful. This year Xiaomi already launched three devices, the Xiaomi Redmi 2, the Xiaomi Note and their most premium model the Xiaomi Note Pro. Now it looks like Xiaomi plans to release an updated version for one of them.
While thw Xiaomi Note and Note Pro are premium models, the Xiaomi Redmi 2, is extremely affordable at 100USD. Just like the predecessor the Redmi 1S, its a midrange offering and we expect it to match a broad target audience. The Xiaomi Redmi 2 newly released on 4th January sports a 64-Bit Quad Core Snapdragon 410, LTE and a 4.7″ HD Display. Additionally you get LTE , 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal memory that you can expand via micro-sd.

While this is really a solid offering, especially the 1GB RAM might be not enough for 2015, especially with competition from Meizu M1 Mini coming up. And it seems like XIaomi is about to release a new, more powerful version of the Xiaomi Redmi 2.
New Xiaomi Redmi 2 on TENAA with 2GB RAM
The new Xiaomi Redmi 2 just got certified on TENAA, Chinas equivalent to U.S FCC or Malaysia’s SIRIM. The New Xiaomi Redmi 2 has 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal memory. Other then this, the specs are identical to the Xiaomi Redmi 2 with 8MP Main Shooter with LED FLash and 2MP Selfie Cam. The new Redmi 2 has Android 4.4.4 KitKat with MIUI V6 pre installed.
We really did not expect Xiaomi to launch an update of the Redmi 2 so fast. With the new Xiaomi Redmi 2 already certified, we expect the new Xiaomi device to launch really soon. Overall this is a really smart step to have a competitive offering for 2015 with the new Xiaomi Redmi 2.
