Wireless Charging for all-metal devices by Qualcomm! Amazing thing you need to know!
As we all know, the wireless charging technology as current on Galaxy S6 & S6 Edge can only pass through the devices which are not metal. This is also a problem with the wireless charging technology that don’t use additional accessories such as matal back cover. And today Qualcomm announced the WiPower technology that can overcome this problem.
Qualcomm is said to be the first company to find out the wireless charging for devices have metal cover. This called “Qualcomm WiPower” which is not based on the well-known Qi and PMA standards, instead relying on a the Rezence wireless charging standard.
This new technology from Qualcomm to create a bright future for all devices with all design materials can be charged as soon as you put the device into wireless charging area
The company did not describe in detail how they can transfer energy through the metal shell, perhaps this is a trade secret should want to keep.
Up to the present time, most of the equipment usually integrated wireless charging using plastic or glass cover. If there is a small metal obstruction such as coin or key, the power can still pass through, but if the cover is metal, then the the process cannot made. Now, thanks to WiPower, hope we will soon have smartphones, tablets made from metal can possess the ability of wireless charging.
Specific experiment and and the prototype will be begun and announced in the near future.
